Local Foleygate articles
I’m not that fond of the nickname “Foleygate”. Anyone got any other ideas? Operation Enduring Pedophile is too long. The Buffalo News and Rochester D&C (finally!) have local pieces up it and the Reynolds connection. It’s pretty much the standard stuff we’ve been hearing with a few local reactions thrown in (from Representative Slaughter in the D&C). The Buffalo News piece is better on substance, but the D&C feature a classic Slaughter quote:
I’m mad as a wet hen.

DFA should put out a press release calling for Reynolds to resign. I wrote to Joe Morelle and asked him to do so. Clearly Reynolds isn’t likely to resign, but enough people sounding off about it can get the media ball rolling in the right direction. Jack Davis is well-positioned to capitalize on some bad Reynolds press.

You should embed or link to the video (on BuffaloGeek) of Reynolds’ press conference. He dragged a bunch of kids to the event as backdrops or human shields. It’s one of the most despicable performances I’ve seen in politics - a bunch of moms with babes in arms listening to Reynolds dodging questions about a tawdry sex scandal.
If you live in the NY-26th, there has never been a more critical time to write Letters to the Editor about this. “I passed it on to my supervisor.”? I think people want leaders in congress, not middle managers. Leaders protect children when they’re being preyed upon. Reynold’s didn’t protect them. He thought bilking funds out of a child predator was more important than protecting the children. He’s disgusting and it has NOTHING to do about politics. It’s about him being more loyal to raising money than to the children.
Any bets as to when the D & C will cover Randy Kuhl’s unpleasant history? If I was able to find the court divorce documents on the web, anyone can. How Kuhl abused his wife is relevant in a political campaign where at least half the voters are women and there is no excuse for covering it up. It should have been reported during the last campaign.
You asked about an alternate monicker for the current scandal. Um. . . Would “The Tea-Bag Dorm Scandal” be too much?
