Saint Laura to honor Reynolds
Via TPM: Laura Bush is planning to help honor Tom Reynolds later this week. If she cancels we’ll know they really are throwing Reynolds down the well/from the train/under the bus. Here’s TPM with the details:
Laura Bush is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a luncheon honoring GOP Rep. Tom Reynolds on Oct. 4, according to local WGRZ-TV. As recently as June 6, Ms. Bush spoke out against what she called “predators on the Internet,” saying that they were one of the “greater dangers” children face today. Question: What does Laura Bush think of the fact that Reynolds has known of GOP Rep. Mark Foley’s behavior since early 2006, and kept it quiet? And will Laura Bush still attend the keynote luncheon honoring Reyolds?.

Let me suggest a LTTE at the Buffalo News pointing out the irony of this event. My guess is that the letter is more likely to be published if it comes from somebody within the circulation/subscription geography, namely Batavia west to the PA line.
