Progressive Tidbits — building strong minds 12 ways
We get a lot of interesting stuff via the contact form. Many thanks to the progressive patriots who are keeping us in the loop on various things. Sometimes it takes a little while before we get around to posting it, but don’t let that fool you into thinking we don’t appreciate it.
Oh, and bullets aren’t showing up. I’ve been over every inch of the stylesheet and googled the crap out of it, and cannot figure out what the heck’s going on. So I’ll use asterices. Any CSS wizards out there care to give me a quick hand?Â
Anyway…
- * Here’s two good videos on Social Security & taxes. They are about 15 minutes each, but do a good job of visually showing what the heck’s going on, why Social Security is NOT in trouble (topical again since Bush and Republicans say they can’t wait to try to destroy it again like they did last year), and why the Bush tax cuts are all they’re “cut” out to be. That’s right, I’m here all week, please tip your waiters.

It even caught the eye of our fellow blogger, The Fighting 29th. Well, all their hard work and organizing paid off– Wal-Mart pulled out of Lima! Great work from the folks down there! Another positive side-effect of progressive activism? From the News10 article:
Their efforts not only convinced Walmart to back out, but also brought the people of this town together.
“If the one thing that happened is that all of meeting each other and getting to know our neighbor that is a wonderful thing, so no, it has not divided this town, it has brought the town much closer,†said Nancy Reece, a member of Lima Citizens for Responsible Development.Â
