Thursday is International Peace Day

Thursday is International Peace Day. There will be an interfaith Declaration of Peace Rally and Ceremony, Thursday, Sept 21, at 5:30PM, Federal Building, State Street, Rochester, NY. The Rochester community is invited to join cities throughout the country in commemorating the International Day of Peace by declaring peace instead of war. There will be speakers of diverse faiths, Congressional responses, pledges of resistance to war, and shared ceremonial signing of Declaration of Peace.

And what’s more conducive to peace than drinking? Nothing, in my opinion. Remember, George Bush is the first teetotaler we’ve had in the White House in quite some time. Coincidence? I think not. So why not drop by Drinking Liberally at Monty’s Korner on Alexander and East between 8 and 10 on Thursday night as well?

I promise not to kill a single person today, not one! If only our country could make the same promise.

I’m going to do you one better: not only will I not kill anyone I won’t waterboard anyone or pepper anyone with buckshot.
