Not sugar coating it
I like the site Raw Story quite a bit, but they can be a bit sensationalist. They’re covering the Cheney-Kuhl fundraiser later this September and here’s the headline “Cheney to stump for GOPer who bullied wife with guns.” I’d rather it said “Cheney to stump for GOPer who says Iraq looks peaceful when you’re flying over”. Or how about “GOPer who shot friend to stump for Randy Kuhl”?

I agree. I really don’t like bringing up that alleged gun incident. I mean, it’s hard to imagine a less objective source for a character reference than divorce records. Kuhl is openly aligning himself with guys like Bush, Cheney and Delay. That says enough right there. No need to go tabloid
Yup, agreed. Let’s focus on the issues.
Let’s focus on the first RT PROTEST!!!
Seriously, we should organize for this one!
People should know who’s bedfellows with whom. Massa campaigns with war heros (Gen. Clark, Sen. Cleland), Kuhl campaigns with folks who got out of serving in Vietnam (Bush, Cheney). It’s not an observation I’d want people to make if I were Kuhl.
I just find it strange that it is Kuhl’s gun incident that gets the play, not Cheney’s. Seems a bit sill to me on Raw’s part.
OMG. You’re right- if they were going to go all tabloid, they should’ve gone all the way. “Randy merely brandished the shotgun, but it took Cheney to use it. Let’s hope there’s no liquor being served at the fundraiser, or who knows what’ll happen!”
IT WAS 1 BEER!!! Well maybe…
I think back to some of my college buddies who hunted… all they did was drink, smoke and shoot stuff… isn’t drinking half the point of hunting?
And Cheney’s friend was comin’ right for him!!!! It was self defense, really.
[...] Holy crap!ÂÂ Whoever writes the “Heard on the Hill” column for Roll Call (subscription only), has been reading my comments from an earlier post here at RT! I’m flattered, but dammit, where’s my royalties? That’s Kuhl, Dude. [...]
