Cheney will be in Rochester next Friday!
Holy cow — I just read about this in the D&C! I assumed the Cheney/Kuhl fundraiser was taking place in Washington — far from the madding crowds of Monroe County and the harsh glare of the Rochester media’s lights — but in fact:
Cheney is planning to host a fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 22, to aid Kuhl’s re-election bid, according to an invitation circulated this morning by Kuhl’s Democratic opponent, Eric Massa.
The invitation says a “private photo opportunity” with Cheney will be held at 4:30 p.m., then a reception to follow at 5 p.m. Both events will be held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
I guess I’m mostly surprised because I didn’t know there was a secure bunker underneath the Riverside Convention Center. You learn something new every day.
As usual, Fighting 29th is about three steps ahead of us covering this one.

I think the strangest thing about this whole incident is that all of the PR has come from the Massa camp. Quite a contrast with this Spring’s Bush visit.
