Stopping the ABC GOP-umentary — the next step
So ABC is still planning on running the GOP-umentary “The Path to 911″. I have the distinct feeling our local affiliate Channel 13 WHAM knows there are problems with it and would probably just as soon not run it, based on their excellent local coverage of the controversy surrounding it tonight. Why not make it easy for them by asking their advertisers to tell them not run it?
Here’s a blog that lists all the national advertisers on ABC.
Here’s a list of local advertisers for WHAM Channel 13. Give them a call or drop them an email and ask them to tell Channel 13 not to run it. Remmber, most of these people are good guys so let’s be nice with them. Three of them are actually Democratic politicians, so they should be amenable to the message. Let’s start with them:
Jack Davis

Hillary Clinton

Email: rochester@hillaryclinton.com
Andrew Cuomo

And here’s the rest (after the fold):

Marketplace Chrysler

These two are probably national advertisers but I included them anyway:

What was the local coverage like, in summary? And did someone from 13 come to DL?

Thanks op99. You guys at DL did a great job, but overall I feel like they gave it a “Clinton’s folks are mad” kind of feel, w/o giving any details at ALL on specific problems (e.g. they only issued advanced copies to right-wingers, fabricated KEY parts of the story, lied about how little they sourced from the 9/11 commish report).
I thought the piece leaned was about as favorable as it could be without coming out and saying “they shouldn’t run this movie.” The bit at the end they did about distinguising news from fiction was right on the money.
