Kevin Williams: “Global Warming Theory melts under scrutiny”

While searching for the hidden Papa John coupon in the D&C, I stumbled upon an Op-Ed piece by local nbc meterologist Kevin Williams. I was dumbfounded when he concluded that the fears of global warming is basically unfounded. Read some of his quotes:

It is said that the one constant in life is change. The same can be said about the Earth’s climate.

Hold on, lets give Kevin a chance to expound his evidence:

The truth is changes in global temperatures are more closely linked to cycles on the sun than to CO2, according to Harvard astronomer Salie Baliunas. In fact, solar physicist David Hathaway believes that the sun will enter a cycle around 2022 that has previously been associated with global cooling.

Moreover, it should be noted that most surface temperature data is from urbanized areas which, over time, turn warmer not because of global warming but because of the addition of heat-trapping roads and buildings.

So what of talk about increased hurricane activity in a warmer world? In testimony before the U.S. Senate last year, hurricane expert William Gray pointed out that natural cycles are at work, with the increase in Atlantic storms last year balanced by fewer storms elsewhere in the world.

To recap, the cause of global warming climate phenomenom are due to cities, sun spots and the Brooklyn Bridge. What about the irrefutable evidence of glaciers melting?

During the intervals between ice ages, glaciers melt naturally. Much of Antarctica, however, has actually grown colder since the 1960s, according to a study in Nature magazine. In the 1970s, the “consensus” was to warn of global cooling and the coming ice age. Today global warming is all the rage. Yet the “Anti Global Warming Petition Project” has been endorsed by 19,000 scientists. There is no consensus.

Just a hunch: 1 of the 19,000 scientists mentioned above wrote the Science article.
Kevin Williams: The next manchurian candidate fox news meterologist?

…penalizing America through economic sanctions such as the Kyoto Treaty is wrong, as are the agendas of some environmentalists. Consider, for example, the words of Maurice Strong, organizer of the 1992 Earth Summit, as quoted by the Edmonton Journal: “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”

While it is plausible that a small amount of warming is attributable to mankind, many scientists believe that cycles on the sun and in the oceans, changes in the Earth’s rotation, volcanic activity and even cosmic collisions are the primary movers of our global climate.

But don’t take my word for it. Try a Web search of esteemed climate scientists Joe D’Aleo, Richard Lindzen, Robert Balling and Fred Singer, to name just a few. I must warn you, however, that your results may prove chilling.

Reading this op-ed is chilling. WOW. Did he just say mankind has zilch effect on species, habitats, climate, and temperature changes?

All I have to say Kevin is…thank you. I no longer have the stress and anxiety from wondering how to conserve and save the planet. You can now rest easier victims of Katrina, dont blame Bush, blame the changes in the axis of earth’s rotation.

Wow, I can’t believe Kevin would do something so irresponsible. Why would he shill like that for corporations, cherry-picking spun data and biased scientists?
