All eyes are on CT
Well, I’m having a heck of a time focusing today. I’m obsessing about the whole Lamont vs. Leiberman senate primary in CT today, especially since Lieberman’s site crashed because his $15/month hosting couldn’t handle the extra election day traffic. I mean, come on. We’re paying close to that for this site and we’re a handful of local progressive bloggers in upstate NY. If you’re going to be cheap, fine, but you get what you pay for.
The best part is how Lieberman is using that incompetence to his advantage by falsly accusing Lamont supporters of hacking his site. And the media is, for the moment, lapping it up without checking the facts.
I’ve noticed that beltway and national pundits outsite Connecticut have been spouting the meme that the Lamont campaign is driven solely by bloggers. Heh. I wish we had that kind of power. But it’s the boots on the ground, and the voters who are making Lamont’s victory possible. Bloggers do play a small part as an alternative media.
And it seems to me, that like a game of volleyball where there’s a set-up followed by someone spiking the ball over the net (hi stlo7!), this “blogger-driven campaign” set-up is now being followed by the media’s spike of “dirty bloggers hacked the website!”
This is what we have to fight against. Because the truth is, we’re just trying to find, and spread, the truth. It’s a pretty rare commodity nowadays.
If you catch wind of any of this type of meme in any of our local media, please let us know. We’d like the opportunity to set them straight.

I felt like the server was a little slow here a couple days ago. I bet we were hacked by those Lamont people too!
And sometimes, I have a little trouble with my wireless connection, too. I wonder if that’s the work of the Lamont people as well.
Those Lamont hackers… damn them! If I had known Joe was in such financial trouble that he couldn’t afford a real server, I would have given him an extra $15 this week so he couldn’t bitch
BTW …
10:14 - With 74 percent of the precincts reporting, Lamont led Lieberman 52 percent to 48 percent, according to The Associated Press.
GO NED!!!!!!
I read another post that the server crashed due to hours of internet poker playing
