a Joementus occasion
You probably all know by now that Ned Lamont won the Democratic Senate primary earlier this evening. What does this have to do with local politics? Well, Chuck Schumer, the senior senator for the great state of New York, is head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. He needs to know that it is his job to support Democratic nominees not members of the “Lieberman for Connecticut” party or whatever Lieberman is calling it. What’s so aggravating here is that Lieberman is acting as though he has a God-given right to occupy his senate seat. This isn’t about progressive versus conservative or pro-war versus anti-war, it’s about democracy versus the entitlement of arrogant Wasington insiders.
Update: Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid have just put out a statement saying
“The Democratic voters of Connecticut have spoken and chosen Ned Lamont as their nominee. Both we and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) fully support Mr. Lamont’s candidacy. Congratulations to Ned on his victory and on a race well run.”
I’ll leave the DSCC/Schumer contact infro after the fold if anyone wants to call to applaud their decision.

And Joe would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it werern’t for those meddling voters!
Hillary’s PAC just cut a check to Ned’s campaign, so she’s on-board.
I just called Louise Slaughter’s office to get an official statement, they said they’d call back later today. I also asked if she’d be willing to answer questions that we submitted, and they said they’d get back to me on that as well. Keep you posted…
lol …those d**ned voters…I’m almost glad he is going to run anyway. I want to watch him get beat again and see him try to blame it on a “minority” of bloggers
