Kuhl and staffer on war: don’t blame me, I just work here
After all the bluster about how great things are going in Iraq, Randy Kuhl wants to be sure we all know he didn’t actually vote for the war. From the Olean Times-Herald:
A freshman congressman, Rep. Kuhl notes he was not a member of Congress when it authorized President Bush to go to war. Rep. Kuhl has supported the appropriations for U.S. troops and thinks there will be significant reductions in U.S. troops in Iraq before the end of the year.
If it’s such a smashing success, why doesn’t he want credit for it?
And what is Kuhl’s “plan for victory” in Iraq? We called his DC office and got this answer: “I am not sure. I only answer the phone.”
By the way, the article has a definite Republican slant. It ends on this “fair and balanced” note: “The U.S. is reallocating troops to Baghdad to help Iraqi security forces sweep the city and disarm the radical groups. At the same time, U.S. troops are beginning to turn sectors over to Iraqi security forces.” My sources confirm that the Times-Herald is indeed a Republican paper.
