no word from Kuhl office on Social Security privatization/phase-out
One of our readers just called Kuhl’s office and asked what the Congessman’s position on Social Security privatization was. The office wouldn’t comment but said that Kuhl would send a letter explaining his position.
This should be interesting to follow: Kuhl got behind the privatization plan very early. Though I don’t agree with the plan, I give him credit for going out a on limb. A lot of Congressmen tried to weasel out of giving straight answers about it, afraid of touching the “third rail” of American politics, as it were. Randy put his hand right on the rail and I do respect that. Given the hostile reaction the plan got from the public, I’ll give him even more credit if he gives out a straight answer on the subject heading into the election.

They probably won’t send it now that you’ve posted about the call… a couple people from house.gov frequent this page…
Hi Reps Kuhl and Walsh! We’re gonna kick both of you out of office in November
We’ll see. He does do those town halls, so he may get stuck having to answer it.
The republican Senate Majority leader has made a very clear statement. If the republicans retain control of the houses, social security privatization will be their number one priority and they won’t do anything about global warming… I don’t give “Rubber Stamp” any credit. Most of the GOP will come out loudly for it and try to convince the American people that it is a good deal for them. That’s their best trick. They convince middle class and poor people that legislation that really only benefits the wealthy is good for them also.
