I don't think they made it up either but if they are pro-Republican, it explains why they ran it. It kinda makes Randy sound good. Or maybe they just thought it was topical. In either case, I think it is poor journalism that there is not enough detail for you to "know what to make of it." I don't read a lot of the D&C articles either...

I've read an article about the problems of newspapers in "Company Towns." The Leader, whose CEO is a democrat, had problems a couple of years ago for running an article that said Corning, Inc. was having financial problems.

Corning, Inc. is Randy Kuhl's largest financial contributer. Of course, none of this may matter...

Yes, but I'm assuming that they didn't make this up, that Kuhl is going on this trip.

Also, the Star-Gazette is the only newspaper covering this race so far, aside from the occassional B5 article in the (Gannet-owned) Democrat and Chronicle.

When God sends Gannett, made Gannett-aide.

The Star-Gazette is own by Gannett. Gannett's CEO contributes heavily to the GOP. Also it's newspapers, like USA today are not exactly famous for the quality of their journalism...
